If you have been in the internet marketing business for any time, you probably know that reciprocal linking is a very important part of the online business that you are running. Reciprocal linking can be one of the most valuable and powerful aspects of your online business, but does it still have a pulse in SEM? This article will help answer this question.

The way reciprocal linking used to work was by using other sites to link back to your own site. Most people would either put their links on a page or post on an article page to get the links to their site. This worked quite well at first and then Google started banning these sites. Google decided that this kind of linking was not fair to other sites and started punishing them for doing this as well.

Google has decided to take a much different approach with reciprocal linking and they do not like it. One of the main reasons that Google does not like this is that there are some websites that just sit there and have links that go straight from someone else to their website. Google has banned websites that do this in order to give the impression that they are not trying to help people.

Now this is not a big surprise to those who have been in the business for a while because Google is not going to allow other sites to promote their own website. They do this with other search engines too. For example, if you type in "how to make a lot of money online" and the first result that comes up is the home page of a person that owns a blog, you will not be able to see their affiliate links. Google does this for a reason.

When you start seeing websites that are promoting websites from search engines, such as Google, then this is going to cause problems with the search engine results. When your links go to a page that is not relevant, you will not receive as many search engine visits as you would have without having these links. Google has made it very clear that they want people to click on their links when possible instead of links that go to another website.

Reciprocal linking and link building is a great way to grow your online business. When done correctly, it can increase your ranking in the search engines and get your site noticed by thousands of potential customers who can also promote your site to get more traffic.
